About the Event

We are delighted to announce our celebration of diversity, inclusion, and leadership during Black History Month.

Presenting our double bill event… Making Waves: Voices of Young Leaders premiere screening & Action Not Words Panel Discussion. We are also excited to be supported by our event partners Trowers & Hamlins, IgniteQuals, Anthony Collins Solicitors, and Shakur Investments.

Making Waves: Voices of Young Leaders is a documentary which chronicles the experiences, perspectives, and achievements of young black leaders within the region.

The documentary showcases a stellar line-up of young professionals, young leaders, and young entrepreneurs who have inspiring stories about their successes and the positive impacts they have had on others. This feature also delves into the personal and professional challenges of being individuals of black heritage in the workplace, the importance of representational role models, and what lies behind their inner strength and determination.

The second part of the event is set within the backdrop of this year's Black History Month theme Time To Change: Action Not Words as we are proud to deliver an insightful Panel Discussion hosted by Dr Tru Powell featuring panel guests;

Yetunde Dania - Head of Office at Trowers & Hamlins and independent Chair of West Midlands Combined Authority’s Race Equalities Task Force, Alex Tross - Commercial Director at Centrick, Louise Teboul - Operations Director at Common Purpose, and Dan Braithwaite - Managing Director at Pertemps Network Catering.

We will explore various topics including the value of representation as well as what responsibilities and actions have organisations, sectors & leaders taken to support equality, and inclusive environments for talent from diverse backgrounds to thrive. There will be an open Q&A segment for the audience to participate.

Join us for an evening of entertainment, a welcome drinks reception, delicious Caribbean food, and the opportunity to be inspired!
